Production capacity of petrochemicals increase by 3 million tons

Assaloyeh (Shana) - By launching six petrochemical projects in Assaloyeh region in Bushehr province, a 2 billion dollars investment package came online and petrochemicals production capacity increased by more than three million tons;" said deputy petroleum minister in petrochemical affairs Abdolhosain Bayat here on Tuesday.

In the opening ceremony of the six big petrochemical projects, Abdolhosain Bayat stated that these projects, in turn unique in the region and the world, being implemented to realize the targets of "1404 Outlook" (2025) document

Bayat said that opening the projects represents the determination and day and night efforts of Iranian youths and by launching them another glorious chapter has been added to Iran's petrochemical industry achievements. 
With refer to launching the first petrochemical plant in the Iranian calendar year 1343 (1954), Bayat said: fifteen years after the opening of the project, country's petrochemicals production capacity, with 1/5 billion dollars investment, amounted to 1/6 million tons while after the victory of the Islamic revolution, nominal capacity of petrochemical products has raised to 47/9 million tons.

He went on to say that at present, the country produces more than 80 varieties of petrochemicals and about 24 thousand people are working in the industry.

National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NIPC) managing director concluded that production capacity of petrochemicals  has increased 30 times when compared with the period before the revolution.

On Tuesday, ethyl benzene and styrene monomer units of Pars Petrochemical plant were inaugurated in the presence of Iran's first vice president, Mohammad Reza Rahimi.

Industrial wastewater treatment and Incineration unit of Mobin Petrochemical plant, Methanol unit of the Zagros petrochemical plant, air separation unit of Mobin Petrochemical plant and Butadiene unit of Jam were the other projects came on stream yesterday.
