Chemical (Non-polymer) Research Group
Introduction
Possessing the skilled industrial and academic manpower as well as technical facilities, i.e. bench scale and pilot plants, Chemical Research Group has concentrated on developing NPC’s policies and strategic plans.
Furthermore, to utilize the scientific potential inside Iran, it has already organized several research teams that are comprised of experienced engineers from petrochemical complexes, university consultants, and researchers.
The main responsibility of research team is to define and supervise purposeful projects in accordance with NPC-RT’s programs continuously
Missions
Chemical Research Group implements joint research projects in collaboration with international licensors and well-known of pilot plants.
One of the most important missions of this group is to manage research project on chemical processes and products in line with NPC’s strategic plan through comprehensive study of plant, recognition, optimization, and finally developing the process.
Objectives (Goals)
v Developing process know-how of existing and new plants through design, construction, and commissioning of pilot plants
v Improving the efficiency of existing plants
v Optimizing the energy consumption
v Changing process wastes into value-added products
To meet the mentioned objectives, NPC-RT employs top graduates of universities of high rank through scientific interviews. They are trained in compliance with research project requirements using different types of training courses held inside and outside Iran. In order to achieve Basic Design and Engineering calculation experience, special training courses are organized employing famous companies. Moreover, process simulator software is produced to analyze the plants precisely.
Research Priorities
Developing the know-how of the following processes are the most important priorities of Chemical Research Group.
v Methanol to Propylene (MTP)
v Methanol
v Dimethyl Ether
v Propane Dehydrogenation
v Methyle Acetate Hydrolysis
v Synthesis Gas
v Recovery and re-construction of membrane out of used ones in Chloro Alkali (C.A.) Plant Furnace
v Structured Packing Column
v Homogeneous Catalysts in acetic acid process
